Here is this amazing early 20th century pre-World War II big chunky sterling silver bracelet with a 15.8 mm round polished natural amethyst cabochon, about 12.0 cts it is a beautiful natural gemstone with inclusions and tiny surface inclusions, it is very well preserved with a fine polished and it sits securely in a old handmade bezel setting in the center of a elaborate thick and chunky leaf design that cascades down the sides to the thick and wide box clasp that closes very securely. The bracelet weighs 77.7 grams and closes at 7.25 inches. On the back it's only markings " Silver Mexico " it has been tested here between 925 and 950 sterling.
This bracelet was made during the pre-World War II Mexican silver Renaissance era where great silversmiths competed to see who could make the nicest jewelry and this bracelet is no exception, the top of the amethyst gemstone sits over 20 mm from the bottom of the bracelet and the top of the bracelet is 1.25 inches wide north to south and constructed in a series of a very sturdy links all the way to the clasp. Please study the photos this is a magnificent antique with museum quality craftsmanship, it has a very nice patina and very gently worn, it is sooo very beautiful and should be in somebody's collection ready to be worn on just that right occasion where everybody in the room will comment on it :.
