Specialized Stumpjumper Vintage Lugged Steel Mountain Bike - Bi-Plane Fork - made in Japan - Very Nice! Take a trip back in time to an era when mountain bikes weren't banned from any trails, and only their tires needed to be pumped up.
Specialized had some of the earliest and finest production mountain bikes. This early'80s lugged made-in-Japan Stumpjumper is not only a survivor, but ready to be your garage queen (or king). This Stumpy has just the right amount of patina and it looks amazing for its age.
This bike also has the bi-plane fork that is much coveted. The pics are really what you want to look at, but check out the vintage Suntour thumb shifters, Specialized rear wheel quick release, Suntour Mountech rear derailleur, Shimano brakes, Suzue hubs, Araya rims, Shimano 6-speed cassette, Suntour XC II bear trap pedals, Avocet Touring saddle, Shimano Deore front derailleur, Sugino AT cranks and new SE Racing 26 tires. Built for a bigger rider, but keep in mind bikes weren't as long as they are these days.Probably want to be 6' or so to ride this, but anyone who appreciates vintage rides from this era can own it and show it! With a 22.5" effective top tube and 21.7" cm seat tube (c-c), this bike should fit most riders in the 5'11" to 6'2" range.
