Large 1960s JAQUET DROZ (Swiss) Vintage Chronograph Watch Landeron Cal. Lovely and rare Jaquet Droz (Swiss) chronograph watch, this large 1960s timepiece has been professionally and fully serviced by Localtime. The only part changed during the service was the mainspring and you can see the old one on my wrist in the last wrist shot. It is absolutely 100% original, with no foreign parts, in great condition throughout and ready to proudly wear or join your collection.

The 43mm (45.50mm counting centre, screw-in crown) polished steel case is in excellent condition, with a small nick at the 8h position. The black dial and dual-purpose bezel (elapsed time and second time zone) and hands, are a feast to the eyes. It is fitted with one of my own handmade Italian leather straps. I was born and raised in Cyprus, a small island in the Eastern Mediterranean, now a member of the European Union. My studies took me to Switzerland, the USA, Germany, and England. I did not, as you might think, study to become a watchmaker but rather a hotelier.

As such, I spent most of my professional life as a hotel manager. Over time, I have actually come to understand that watch restoration and hospitality have a lot in common.

In both instances, I have found myself taking care of people or products that were with me for a brief period of time. As a hotel manager, I was content at the end of a visitors stay in my hotel when they would give me a warm smile and an appreciative farewell. I love what I do and I take pride in doing it the best way possible in order to maintain the original integrity of each vintage timepiece. Id also be happy to hear from you if you would like to have a watch restored.
